LIMITED WARRANTY POLICY FOR REBUILT SUPERCHARGERS
Superchargers Online (“SCOL”) provides a limited warranty for certain qualified superchargers rebuilt or remanufactured by SCOL on the following terms and conditions:
Limited Warranty
SCOL warrants that all standard stage 2 rebuilt superchargers will be free of defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date of purchase, subject to the conditions and exclusions set forth in this policy. This limited warranty only applies to stage 2 rebuilds – meaning a fully rebuilt supercharger with brand new EATON rotors.
The warranty period begins on the date when SCOL issues the invoice for the rebuilt supercharger to the customer. All warranty claims must be submitted within the applicable warranty period.
The limited warranty only applies to superchargers stage 2 rebuilt by SCOL which are installed by a certified new car dealership, installer, or by an automotive service technician certified by the Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) at an automotive repair facility with a valid business license (each, an “Approved Installer”). This limited warranty does not cover stage 1 rebuilds involving the reuse of existing supercharger components.
This limited warranty is non-transferable and terminates upon any sale or transfer of the rebuilt supercharger (including as a result of the sale or transfer of the vehicle).
The limited warranty will automatically be voided if (1) the supercharger is rebuilt or modified by any party other than SCOL, (2) the supercharger is disassembled, modified, used, operated or maintained in a manner inconsistent with manufacturer’s specifications, or (3) the rebuilt supercharger is not installed by an Approved Installer. If the limited warranty is voided for any reason, SCOL will have no further obligations or liabilities to the customer hereunder.
The limited warranty automatically terminates on the one-year anniversary of the date when SCOL issued the invoice for the rebuilt supercharger, without exception. For avoidance of doubt, submitting a warranty claim during the applicable warranty period does not result in any pause or extension of the warranty period.
Modified Superchargers
For rebuilt superchargers which were previously modified in a manner consistent with the manufacturer’s specifications (including ported superchargers), the limited warranty only applies for a 90-day period commencing on the date of purchase. The limited warranty does not apply to any superchargers that have been modified, disassembled or operated in any manner inconsistent with the applicable manufacturer’s specifications. The customer is solely responsible for obtaining the manufacturer’s specifications for their supercharger before or at the time of purchase and for using and maintaining the supercharger in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications at all times.
Inspections and Warranty Coverage
All warranty claims will be subject to inspection and approval by SCOL’s shop technicians.
This warranty does not cover the cost of freight or return shipping of the supercharger to SCOL. The customer is responsible for all costs of return shipping the supercharger to SCOL for inspection.
All returned superchargers must be clearly identified with a Return Goods Authorization (RGA) number issued by SCOL. Please contact SCOL to obtain an RGA number for your warranty claim.
SCOL attempts to inspect all returned superchargers within 3 business days after receipt of the return shipment. SCOL’s shop technicians will inspect the returned supercharger and determine the cause of any issues with the supercharger and the extent of warranty coverage. The determination of SCOL’s shop technicians will be binding and determinative.
If SCOL determines that a returned supercharger has defects in parts or workmanship within the warranty period, SCOL will repair or replace the supercharger and ship the repaired or replaced supercharger to the customer. If the warranty applies, SCOL will bear the costs of return shipping to the customer.
If SCOL determines that a returned supercharger failed due to any cause other than as a sole result of defects in materials or workmanship within the warranty period, then SCOL will notify the customer and provide a quote for the repairs. The customer will have a period of 90 days to approve the repairs and pay SCOL for the repair costs. If the customer fails to approve the repairs within the 90-day period, the customer can either pay for the supercharger to be shipped back to the customer. If the customer does not pay for the supercharger to be shipped back within 6 months of the inspection, the customer agrees that ownership of the supercharger will be deemed to be conveyed to SCOL, and at SCOL’s option, SCOL may retain ownership of the supercharger and/or dispose of the supercharger.
Exclusions
Our limited warranty does not cover any of the following:
a. The cost of vehicle diagnostics, product removal, or product installation.
b. Any consequential or incidental costs or damages, including damage of any vehicles or parts, and transport or ancillary costs, e.g. towing, rental car, accommodation.
c. Failure of any related or interfaced components.
d. Failure resulting from improper air filtration, alteration, misuse, exposure to chemicals, chrome or decorative plating.
e. Damage caused by “backfire”, road hazards, accident damage, faulty installation, faulty repair, negligence by customer or installer or the use of methanol, alcohol, or Nitrous Oxide Systems.
f. Damage or failure resulting from modifications, disassembly, accidents, improper use or maintenance.
g. Cosmetic issues and ordinary wear and tear.
h. Any other damage or failure resulting from any cause other than defects in materials or workmanship during the applicable warranty period.
Disclaimers; Limitation of Liability
Except as provided in this limited warranty policy, all other warranties of any kind, express or implied, are expressly disclaimed by SCOL to the maximum extent permitted by law. SCOL’s maximum liability under this warranty policy will be limited to the original price paid for the rebuilt supercharger by the original customer.
Extended Warranty
When purchasing a rebuilt or remanufactured supercharger from SCOL, the original purchaser can purchase an extended warranty at the time of purchase for a price equal to ten percent (10%) of the invoice price for the rebuilt supercharger. If the extended warranty is purchased, the limited warranty is extended for an additional one-year period after the initial warranty period. During the one-year extended warranty period, all the same terms and conditions of the limited warranty would apply. The extended warranty period automatically terminates on the two-year anniversary of the original date of purchase (i.e., two years after the date when SCOL issued the original invoice for the rebuilt supercharger).
If you do not purchase the extended warranty, your product is not covered by an extended warranty. Modified or disassembled superchargers are not eligible for extended warranty coverage. Additionally, extended warranty coverage is not available for stage 1 rebuilds involving the reuse of existing supercharger components.
Submitting a Warranty Claim
To submit a warranty claim, please find your invoice for the rebuilt supercharger and call SCOL at 818-518-9889 to determine if your product is still under limited warranty, and if applicable, obtain an RGA number and arrange for the return and inspection of your product.
